UKPayday Check eligibility

Terms and conditions

The terms. Plain and simple.

Last updated: 16 August 2026

These terms explain how you may use UKPayday and what you can expect from our credit-broking service.

Please read them before submitting an application. By using the website or submitting your information, you agree to these terms.

01

Who we are

UKPayday is a trading name of PJG Financial Limited.

PJG Financial Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as a credit broker.

Company number
SC535782
FCA firm reference number
919697
ICO registration number
ZB537016
Registered office
5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AN

02

We are a credit broker, not a lender

UKPayday does not lend money.

We do not:

  • Approve or decline loan applications
  • Decide how much you can borrow
  • Set interest rates or repayment terms
  • Provide the money
  • Collect loan repayments
  • Change an existing loan agreement
  • Guarantee that you will receive an offer

Our role is to collect your information and check whether a participating lender or broker may be able to consider your application.

Any credit agreement is between you and the lender. The lender’s own terms will apply to that agreement.

03

How the service works

When you submit an application:

  1. You tell us how much you would like to borrow and provide the requested information.
  2. We pass your information through our matching process.
  3. Your application may be referred to T Dot UK Limited and participating lenders or brokers.
  4. A partner may check whether you meet its initial criteria.
  5. If a potential match is found, you may be redirected or introduced to that partner.
  6. The partner decides what happens next.

We search a participating panel, not the whole credit market.

A potential match is not an approval, recommendation or guarantee. The lender may still decline your application or offer a different amount, rate or term.

04

T Dot UK Limited

As part of the matching process, your application may be referred to T Dot UK Limited.

T Dot UK Limited is an FCA-authorised credit broker. It may use an automated system to determine the order in which your application is presented to participating lenders and brokers.

T Dot UK Limited does not make the final lending decision.

Its privacy policy explains how it collects, uses, shares and stores information.

Once your information is passed to T Dot UK Limited or another partner, that organisation’s own terms and privacy policy will also apply.

05

Who may use UKPayday?

UKPayday is intended for people who:

  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Live in the United Kingdom
  • Are applying for themselves
  • Can provide accurate personal and financial information
  • Have the legal capacity to enter a credit agreement

Submitting an application does not mean you meet a lender’s criteria.

Each lender decides its own eligibility requirements. These may include minimum income, employment, residency, affordability and credit-history requirements.

06

The information you provide

You must provide information that is accurate, current and complete.

You must not:

  • Apply using another person’s identity
  • Submit an application for someone else
  • Provide bank details you are not authorised to use
  • Deliberately leave out information that affects affordability
  • Provide false income, employment or spending information
  • Submit applications for fraudulent or unlawful purposes

If information is incorrect, a potential match may be withdrawn and your application may be rejected.

We may suspend an application or ask for clarification if information appears incomplete, inconsistent or potentially fraudulent.

07

Contact about your application

By submitting the form, you ask UKPayday and the partners involved in processing your application to contact you about that application.

This contact may be made by:

  • Email
  • SMS
  • Telephone
  • Website redirection

Application updates and service messages are separate from optional marketing.

You do not need to agree to marketing to use UKPayday. Marketing contact will only take place where there is a lawful basis and you have been given the relevant choice.

08

Credit searches

Checking for a potential match may involve a soft credit search carried out by a participating partner.

A soft search does not affect your credit score.

If you continue with a formal application, the lender may complete a hard credit search. A hard search is recorded on your credit file and may affect your score.

The lender or broker carrying out a search is responsible for explaining:

  • Which credit-reference agency it uses
  • Whether the search is soft or hard
  • How the search will appear on your credit file
  • How it uses the result

UKPayday does not access your full credit report or make the final credit decision.

09

No guarantee of approval

We cannot guarantee:

  • That a potential match will be found
  • That you will be approved
  • That you will receive the amount requested
  • That the lender will offer your preferred term
  • That the advertised or representative rate will apply
  • How quickly a lender will make its decision
  • When approved funds will reach your account

Rates, terms and acceptance decisions depend on your circumstances and the lender’s assessment.

An eligibility result or conditional indication can be changed or withdrawn after further checks.

10

Check the lender’s terms

Before accepting a loan, check:

  • The lender’s legal name
  • The amount being borrowed
  • The interest rate
  • The APR
  • The amount and date of each repayment
  • The total interest charged
  • The total amount repayable
  • Any charges that could apply
  • What happens if you miss a payment
  • Your right to withdraw, where applicable

Do not accept an agreement unless you understand it and can afford every repayment alongside your essential costs.

If something is unclear, ask the lender for an explanation before agreeing.

11

Our service is free to you

UKPayday does not charge you for using its credit-broking service.

You should never be asked to pay UKPayday:

  • An application fee
  • A matching fee
  • An administration fee
  • A fee to release loan funds
  • A monthly membership fee

Any interest or lender charges will be shown in the lender’s credit agreement.

If someone claims to represent UKPayday and asks you to pay an upfront fee or provide a PIN, password or debit-card security code, stop communicating with them and contact help@ukpayday.co.uk.

12

How we are paid

PJG Financial Limited may receive a commission or referral fee from a lender or broker if our introduction leads to you entering a credit agreement.

The amount or structure of commission may vary between partners or products.

Where required, we will disclose:

  • The existence and nature of the commission
  • How it may affect the amount you pay
  • Any effect it may have on our impartiality

You can ask us for the amount—or likely amount—of commission before entering a credit agreement. Email help@ukpayday.co.uk.

Further information about credit-broker commission is available in the FCA’s commission rules.

13

UKPayday does not provide financial advice

Our matching service, guides and website content provide general information.

They are not:

  • Personal financial advice
  • Debt advice
  • A recommendation to borrow
  • A recommendation of a particular lender
  • A statement that a loan is suitable for you

You remain responsible for deciding whether to apply, continue with a partner or accept a credit agreement.

If you are borrowing to repay other borrowing, cover the same shortfall every month or pay essential bills, another loan may make the situation harder.

Free and impartial help is available from MoneyHelper, StepChange and Citizens Advice.

14

Existing loans

UKPayday cannot manage a loan after it has been provided.

For questions about:

  • A payment
  • Changing a repayment date
  • Repaying early
  • Updating bank details
  • Missing a payment
  • Receiving approved funds
  • Withdrawing from a credit agreement

Contact the lender named in your agreement.

Any withdrawal or cancellation rights relating to the loan will be explained in the lender’s documents.

If you are unsure which company you were introduced to, contact us and we will try to identify it.

15

Submitting and stopping an application

You may stop before submitting the UKPayday form.

Once submitted, information may be transmitted to T Dot UK Limited or another partner immediately. It may not be possible to recall information that has already been sent.

You are not required to accept a loan simply because a potential match has been found.

Stopping an application does not automatically delete information already processed. Information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

16

Using the website properly

You may use UKPayday for lawful, personal purposes.

You must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website
  • Introduce malware or harmful code
  • Interfere with the website’s operation or security
  • Copy, scrape or extract website data using automated systems
  • Misrepresent your identity
  • Submit fraudulent or repeated false applications
  • Use the website to harm another person
  • Use our content for an unlawful or commercial purpose without permission

We may restrict access, block activity or report suspected fraud where reasonably necessary.

17

Website availability

We aim to keep UKPayday available and accurate, but we cannot promise that the website will always be:

  • Available without interruption
  • Free from technical errors
  • Compatible with every device
  • Free from delays outside our control

We may suspend or change part of the website for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons.

If an application fails to submit, do not assume it has been received. Contact us if you are unsure.

18

Website information

We take reasonable care to keep our information clear and current.

Loan products, lender criteria, rates and legal requirements can change. Information on the website may therefore be updated without notice.

The exact terms offered by a lender will take priority over general examples or information displayed by UKPayday.

A representative example is an illustration, not a personal quote or promise that you will receive those terms.

19

Other websites

UKPayday may link or redirect you to a website operated by a lender, broker, adviser or other organisation.

We do not control those websites. Their own:

  • Terms and conditions
  • Privacy policies
  • Cookie policies
  • Security arrangements

will apply.

A link or introduction does not mean UKPayday guarantees the organisation’s products, availability or decision.

However, this does not remove any responsibility we have for making an introduction or operating our own service with reasonable care.

20

Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for:

  • A lender’s approval or decline decision
  • The terms offered by a lender
  • A partner changing or withdrawing an offer
  • Delays in a lender providing funds
  • A lender’s management of an existing agreement
  • Loss caused by inaccurate information you provide
  • Problems caused by events outside our reasonable control
  • Business losses arising from personal use of the website

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Deliberate misconduct
  • Your statutory consumer rights

21

Intellectual property

The UKPayday website, branding, written content, graphics, layout and software are owned by or licensed to PJG Financial Limited.

You may view and print reasonable extracts for your personal use.

You may not copy, republish, sell, modify or commercially exploit our content without written permission.

22

Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains:

  • What information we collect
  • Why we use it
  • Who receives it
  • How long we keep it
  • Your data-protection rights

Our Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used.

These policies form part of the terms governing your use of UKPayday.

23

Tell us what happened, when it happened and what you would like us to do.

We will investigate fairly and aim to send a final response within eight weeks.

If you are unhappy with our final response—or eight weeks have passed without one—you may be able to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

The Financial Ombudsman Service is free and independent. You will normally need to contact it within six months of our final response.

If your complaint concerns a lender’s decision, repayments or loan administration, you should normally complain directly to that lender.

24

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to:

  • The UKPayday service
  • Our partners
  • Technology
  • Regulation
  • The law

The latest version will appear on this page with its updated date.

Changes will not remove rights you already have. Material changes will apply to future use of the website and future applications.

25

If part of these terms cannot be enforced

If a court finds that part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply.

If we do not enforce a term immediately, this does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later.

26

Governing law

These terms are governed by Scottish law.

If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory consumer protections provided by the law where you live.

You may bring legal proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom where you live. PJG Financial Limited may only bring proceedings against you in a court permitted by applicable consumer-jurisdiction law.
